Veterans

Veterans are disproportionately impacted by suicide due to factors such as depression, substance use, and access to firearms. ND HOPES is tailoring trainings, interventions, resources, and communications for veterans, ensuring that both veterans and those providing their care feel supported and aware of where they can turn for services.

Veterans Storytelling Campaign to Reduce Stigma and Normalize Asking for Help

ND HOPES, ND CARES, and Governor’s Challenge ND are proud to share stories from three North Dakota Veterans talking about reaching out for help and the people and organizations that supported them along the way. Each story underscores how connection to community can make the difference in finding hope and healing.

We invite you to view and share these videos with your networks to highlight connection to community as a powerful suicide protective factor.
