About The Event

Behavioral health care for adults with serious mental illness (SMI) and children with severe emotional disturbance (SED) does not occur in isolation—each individual’s experiences are shaped by their family system. This session explores how family dynamics, communication patterns, cultural context, and intergenerational influences affect mental health across the lifespan. Participants will gain practical strategies for working collaboratively with families and caregivers to strengthen support networks, improve engagement, and promote healthier functioning and recovery for both adults and children.
