About The Event
Over the past three years, North Dakota has experienced a rise in pediatric EMS calls involving suicide and self-harm. A recent study found that 1 in 25 pediatric 911 calls is related to these emergencies. Most involve girls around 15 years old but children as young as eight have also needed EMS care.
These calls can be challenging to respond to. Transfers for mental health can turn into long trips. To help support you in the amazing work you do, ND EMS for Children, together with the Health and Human Services Behavioral Health Division and FirstLink, are hosting a special webinar.
During this live, interactive session, you’ll gain practical tools and compassionate approaches for supporting young people in crisis — and their caregivers. Participants will earn 2 hours of NCCR credit, and every agency represented will receive a resource package to use in the field. A recording will also be shared afterward.
